This year 5th and 6th class visited Lough Key Forest Park for their school tour. The Rockingham Remembered Tour and Boda Borg were the chosen activities. The tour was very interesting, outlining the history of Rockingham House and immersing us in the landscape, flora, and fauna of Lough Key. Our tour guide took us through 19th century underground tunnels, to the top of the 5-storey Moylurg viewing tower, and finishing along a 300m Tree Canopy Walk which rose 9m above the woodland floor and offered panoramic views of the lake. After lunch we completed a one-of-a-kind, indoor, interactive experience that challenged our, mind, body, and teamwork skills. We thoroughly enjoyed the 15 brain-teasing quests with some of our favourites being ‘The Rats’, ‘The Jungle’, and ‘The Farm’. Bhaineamar an-taitneamh as an lá!
