Visit from The Corrib Mask Search and Rescue Team
Members of the Corrib Mask Search and Rescue team recently visited our school to talk about water safety on our local lakes and also to show us their ambulance jeep, rescue boat and equipment including a demonstration of how to manually inflate a life jacket. This was a great opportunity for our pupils to make connections with what they have learnt this year as part of their SPHE programme. Community Games Chess Team♟️🏆
Well done to our pupils who won gold at the Mayo Community Games Chess Final a few weeks ago. They recently went to Sligo to take part in the Connacht Final where they played against the current All Ireland winners Leitrim. Literacy Lift Off
First and Second Class pupils worked really hard and had lots of fun learning experiences during their six weeks of Literacy Lift Off in Term 1. Literacy Lift Off is a short-term, intensive literacy intervention programme. Hometree Workshop
The children from 1st and 2nd class were delighted to welcome visitors from Hometree, who spent the morning teaching our pupils about the importance of native trees in protecting and preserving our local ecosystem. The children learned how native species support biodiversity, provide vital habitats for wildlife, and help maintain a healthy environment for future generations. After an engaging workshop, the pupils had the exciting opportunity to put their learning into action.
