Literacy Lift Off

First and Second Class pupils worked really hard and had lots of fun learning experiences during their six weeks of Literacy Lift Off in Term 1. Literacy Lift Off is a short-term, intensive literacy intervention programme. Its aim is to improve reading, writing, spelling, and oral language skills by providing focused support in a structured and engaging way. The children enjoyed working in small groups as they rotated through a range of learning stations, including novel reading, word study and spelling activities, writing tasks to develop creativity and sentence structure and using Lexia online programme on the iPads to build phonics and comprehension skills. This approach to learning encourages active participation and lots of opportunities for children to grow in confidence while developing a strong foundation in literacy and most importantly, having fun!
